Apprenticeship: Engineering maintenance technician – dual discipline (Level 3)

Join the Stiltz Engineering Apprenticeship and start your journey in Research & Development (R&D) engineering, where you’ll help design, build, and test innovative products that make a difference to our customers lives.

What you’ll do

You’ll gain real, practical engineering experience from day one:

• Work alongside R&D engineers developing the Stiltz homelift range

• Build and test prototypes using 3D printers, CNC machines, and plasma cutters

• Support product testing against safety and performance standards

• Help record results and write simple technical reports

• See engineering in action through hands-on product builds and field installations

• Learn how products are developed from concept through to manufacture

Training & qualification

• Engineering Maintenance Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship (Technical Support pathway)

• Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

• Delivered in partnership with City of Wolverhampton College

• Day release: 2 days per week in year 1, then 1 day per week thereafter (Bilston campus)

• Blended learning: college-based study + workplace training

What we’re looking for

• Grade 4+ in GCSE Maths and English (Grade 5 preferred)

• Ideally studying or recently completed a Level 2 Engineering qualification

• Interest in engineering, design, or how things are made

• Enjoys hands-on practical work and problem-solving

• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop new skills

• Good communication and attention to detail

• Science or engineering subjects are helpful but not essential
