Alex's apprenticeship success at Stiltz

I chose an Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at Stiltz for its blend of hands-on workshop experience and design work. 

My favourite project so far is designing and building a CNC tool rack, from sketch to finished product. 

Through the apprenticeship program, I have gained skills in CAD, bench fitting, machine operation (including plasma cutting, 3D printing, lathe, milling machine, and CNC), and electronics.

While CAD design has been a challenge, I have learned and improved with each project. 

The support from the R&D team has been invaluable. I appreciate the friendly, collaborative environment and the immense learning opportunities here at Stiltz. The annual company party was also a definite highlight! 

I aim to complete a HNC after my apprenticeship and progress within the company. 

My advice for future apprentices... "take the opportunity, be open to learning, and don't be afraid to make mistakes – that's how you grow."

Bradley's apprenticeship success at Stiltz

I chose an Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at Stiltz for its hands-on approach to learning. 

I have gained invaluable experience across various engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and design.

I have developed practical skills in soldering, circuit board testing, fault finding, machining (welding, milling, turning), CAD, and pre-programming. 

I apply these skills by designing projects in CAD, then 3D printing or plasma cutting the parts, and assembling them.

While understanding the complexities of homelift systems has been a challenge, I have found it very rewarding. 

I felt welcomed from day one at Stiltz and appreciate the supportive, professional environment. The annual Stiltz party was also a memorable event!

My goal is to become an experienced electrical engineer. My advice to future apprentices... "always have a goal – experience and knowledge will follow."
