Movember 2024: Mos, Miles, and Making a Difference
For the second year running, Stiltz Homelifts embraced Movember, raising awareness and funds for critical causes like suicide prevention, mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Throughout the month, we shared helpful resources with our Stiltz People to spark conversations and provide support on these topics.
Activities:
Our team went the extra mile—literally—with the 60 for 60 challenge, covering 60 kilometers during November whether that be walking, running, or cycling. For every employee who completed the challenge, Stiltz donated £10.
Of course, Movember wouldn’t be complete without some magnificent (and occasionally questionable) moustaches. It was great to see the progress over time, with some impressive mos coming into their own as the days went by—and plenty of laughs along the way.
We didn’t want anyone to miss out on the fun, so for our field teams, we sent out stick-on moustaches—because whether real or fake, a good mo deserves to be celebrated.
The results
Thanks to everyone’s dedication, we raised an impressive £613, with special kudos to Hannah Burgess, who raised a remarkable £325 for the 60 for 60 challenge—earning the highest individual donation award for the second year in a row.
Judging this year’s mos were extra challenging to judge but we narrowed it down to 4 winning categories:
Darryl Cope’s Ned Flanders-inspired stache won Best Cartoon Character Mo.
Gino Farruggio channeled Mario to win Best Games Console Character Mo.
Chris Westwood’s late bloomer earned Best Last-Minute Mo.
Alberto Vazquez claimed Best Non-Line Manager Mo.
Movember is just one of the many initiatives Stiltz embraces to support mental health and nurture a strong, caring community. While the campaign may have wrapped up, our commitment to making a difference continues. A huge thank you to everyone who got involved—together, we’re proving that a little effort (and some creative facial hair) can go a long way.
