Emma is Aspire-ing to swim the English Channel!
One of Stiltz Homelifts’ longer-serving staff members Emma Potter, who looks after all the company’s QUENSH compliance, is taking on a mammoth swimming challenge. Having recently made the decision to up her fitness game, Emma joined a local gym and noticed a swimming challenge on the notice board there which she just couldn’t ignore – the Aspire Channel Swim 2023.
Now, when she says she’s going to swim the channel, she’s actually going to swim the gruelling 22 miles, the distance of Dover to Calais, in her local pool. Still no mean feat – we’re in awe. She’s swimming to raise much-needed funds for Aspire, the charity which supports people with Spinal Cord Injury.
Emma explains “This challenge is extra-special for me. Like many of us at Stiltz, I’ve spent the best part of my working life involved in the mobility industry. I’ve seen first-hand the life-changing effects of Spinal Cord Injury and this is what compelled me to get involved with the Aspire Channel Swim and to raise as much money as I can for this incredibly worthwhile cause”.
By swimming the length of the English Channel; 22 miles, in her local pool, Emma helped raise funds which were vital for providing support to help people who have sustained spinal injuries reclaim their independence. She completed the 22 miles on 5th December and raised an impressive £1,057 in total!
